​BOOGIEDOWN AT THE BRONX ZOO

The Bronx and Bronx Zoo have been an integral part of culture. The zoo as one of the largest attractions in NYC, and the borough as the birthplace and harbinger of hip hop culture that swept the world.
 
These 2 entities had been in the same area for 40 years, but never collaborated with each other.

We created a unity between zoo and culture – where zoo animals met with cultural influencers like hip hop artists and street artists. 
​
Originators of hip hop Melle Mel (Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five) and Grandmaster Caz (Cold Crush Brothers) created a song and music video sampling animal sounds from the zoo. For the first time in history, street artists Crash, Tats Cru and Andre Trenier collaborated with actual animals to create key art used in advertising and social promotions.

In addition to the collaborations, we created a mini docu-series that showcased what the culture and the zoo meant to our pioneers. 
​
Not only was the collaboration art created for our advertising, but giclee prints were sold to help raise money for conservation efforts of WCS and the Bronx Zoo.
